10 Questions for the New Year
You can’t know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been.
The New Year is a great opportunity to carve out time - individually and as a practice - to check in, reflect on the recent past, and envision the near future.
Whether it’s reevaluating your mission, vision, and values, reviewing P&Ls for the new fiscal year, or picking a theme word for the year, here’s to starting 2024 on purpose!
Take some time to go through these 10 practice inventory questions as an exercise of intentionality and self-reflection:
What happened in 2023?
What went well in 2023?
What went poorly in 2023?
What is the practice’s financial state, and how can this be changed or sustained?
What is desired for 2024 (personally and as a practice), and how have those desires changed or remained the same?
Are there any new systems or strategies that need to be in place for 2024? (ex: payroll, marketing, team meetings, etc.)
What expectations and/or confrontations need to be communicated within your team?
Do any vendors or technologies need to be reevaluated or changed? (ex: EHR, accountant, business coach, etc.)
How will personal mental health be prioritized and boundaries be set in 2024?
What S.M.A.R.T. goals need to be established to make these things happen?
Happy New Year, friends. May it be your practice’s best year yet!
